Microsoft’s next-generation console is on the way, and it’ll launch during the 2020 holiday season. Microsoft announced during E3 that the console is currently known as Project Scarlett and will launch with Halo Infinite. It is the first console announced that will follow the current generation (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch) and will have a custom processor based off the Ryzen 2 from AMD per Yahoo!, a GPU based off of AMD’s Navi and GDDR6 RAM. The console will have four times the processing power of the Xbox One X, and a forty times performance increase over the current-gen console.

The console will have up to 120 frames per second and 8K resolution support, with an SSD that will be both storage and virtual RAM. Phil Spencer said that the platform will allow users to access their games wherever they like via the new Azure platform and Project xCloud. Players will be able to stream games using their console as the server or through Microsoft’s data centers.
