The world of Fallout seems tailor-made for tabletop roleplaying, and now gamers will have that chance. Modiphius Entertainment has announced that a standalone roleplaying expansion for the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare tabletop miniatures game is on the way, set to arrive this summer.

According to the announcement, the roleplaying game “will build on the narrative wargame experience of the tabletop miniatures game.” It will include rules for character creation as well as both creating and playing adventures set in the wasteland of the Fallout universe. James Sheahan, who designed the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare miniatures game, is developing the expansion.

The announcement describes the game as follows: “Delve into abandoned Vaults, ruined cities, strange facilities, and antiquated military bases. Encounter Super Mutants, Raiders, Survivors, Vault Dwellers, the Brotherhood of Steel, the Institute and the Enclave, and many more! Will you roam wide and far, or build up and protect your settlement? For those who want to create their own unique characters, use the faction based Archetype cards to start your own hero and see them grow from adventure to adventure.”

In addition, Modiphius is developing a second, more traditional tabletop RPG that will use the 2d20 System that Modiphius uses in Mutant Chronicles, Infinity, Conan, Star Trek Adventures, and John Carter of Mars. That game will arrive next year.
