A new report has some details on how WWE 2K22 will handle microtransactions in the new MyFaction career mode. As reported earlier this month, 2K Games revealed a top 10 “hit list” of new features coming to the latest iteration of the game, which will release in March. That included the new MyFaction mode, which will “puts players in control of building a legendary faction that rivals the iconic nWo. Players will collect, manage, and upgrade Superstars, with weekly events and regular updates.”

According to the YouTube account Smacktalks (per Fightful), a recent press call revealed that the MyFaction mode will be a single-player offline mode. In addition, 2K confirmed that virtual currency in the game will not allow any sort of competitive advantage. Microtransactions have been a focus of criticism in games for the past several years, particularly if such games offer any sort of advantage to the gameplay.

2K also confirmed that items you can buy with virtual currency will also be able to be purchased with MyFaction points, which are earned as a course of playing the game mode. WWE 2K22 is due out in March 2022 as a multi-platform release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC.
