New Eberron D&D Hardcover Book Coming This Fall

May 20, 2019 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

There were a lot of big reveals at this past weekend’s D&D Live: The Descent event, but one of the most interesting ones was saved for last. On Sunday at the end of the three-day event, D&D senior director Nathan Stewart revealed that an Eberron hardcover book is on the way.

No real details were announced regarding the book, except that it would be coming in the fall and feature a warforged on the cover. This will follow on the Wayfinder’s Guide to Eberron, which was released last year and was the first official 5th Edition release for the popular setting. Wizards of the Coast has been building to a wider Eberron release for some time, with an increasingly close-to-official artificer class being released earlier this month.

When the Wayfinder’s Guide was released last year, Wizards creative director Mike Mearls said that any Eberron print product would complement but not replace it, saying:

Eberron is one of Dungeons & Dragons’ most popular settings. Created by Keith Baker and introduced in Third Ediiton, Eberron sees many of the typical D&D tropes thrown slightly askew. Halflings roam the planes riding dinosaurs, magic has an Industrial era-level of efficiency and pulp, noir adventure rules the day as the setting is just coming out of a world war. There is not yet a release date for the hardcover book, but more information will surely be coming throughout the year.
