Overwatch Adding Deathmatch in Next Major Patch

Overwatch is adding Deathmatch to its roster of game modes. Blizzard has released a new developer’s update video in which Jeff Kaplan announced that Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch will be coming and are currently on the Public Test Region. You can watch the developer video below.

Team Deathmatch will be played in two teams of four, with the winner going to the first team to rack up thirty kills. The mode will be played on modified versions of several maps including Hanamura, Horizon Lunar Colony, Temple of Anubis, Volskaya Industries, Dorado, Eichenwalde, Hollywood, King’s Row, Black Forest, Castillo, Ecopoint: Antarctica and Necropolis. In addition, Team Deathmatch will allow Mercy, the dedicated healer in the game, to be fiable in that when she does her Resurrection Ultimate it will take eliminations off the scoreboard for the other team.

As for the Free For All mode, it will be an eight player solo mode which gives wins to the first person to get twenty kills and lootbox credits to the top four players. it eill be played on modified Hybrid, Escort and Assault matches as well as a new exclusive map in Chateau Guillard, Widowmaker family estate in France. The new map is filled with different elevations and a mix of open areas and tight corners, with jump pads and health packs at strategic points.

The new modes are now on public testing, while the main game is currently in the midst of the 2017 Summer Games.
