In its first week of cable airings, the Overwatch League got off to a pretty strong start. The season one playoffs kicked off on Disney XD with a a 0.04 demo rating and 174,000 viewers on Wednesday, and a 0.03 with 127,000 viewers on Friday.

The numbers are quite good for both Blizzard and Disney, which announced last Wednesday before the quarterfinals that they would air on cable via Disney XD and ESPN 3. Disney XD does not usually rank among the top 150 cable originals for the night on Wednesdays and Fridays; the Philadelphia Fusion vs. Boston Uprising and Los Angeles Gladiators vs. London Spitfire games helped bring the network there with a #148 ranking on Wednesday and #145 ranking on Friday.

These were not the only venues available for viewing the playoffs, either. On Twitch, the week one games averaged 97,842 viewers according to Esports Charts. There are also ESPN3 numbers, which are not available at this time. Disney XD’s numbers for the Saturday conclusion of the Gladiators vs. Spitfire series are also not yet available.

The Spitfire and Fusion won their respective quarterfinals series and move onto the semifinals that take place this week. The Fusion have the difficult task of trying to unseat the dominating #1 seeds in the New York Excelsior, while the Spitfire must go up against the Pacific Division champion and #2 seeds in the Los Angeles Valiant. The semis begin Wednesday and can be seen on Twitch, Disney XD and ESPN3 for the first day, Twitch and ESPNEWS for Day 2 on Friday, and Twitch and ESPN2 on Saturday.
