[PODCAST] D&D 5e Actual Play: Eberron – Heirs of Destiny 01

The campaign that was somewhat teased a few weeks ago when we released episode 0 is finally here! It’s time for an adventure in Eberron!

Eberron, the brainchild of game designer Keith Baker, was first set to book in June 2004 – Baker’s campaign setting was picked as the winner of Wizard’s of the Coast’s Fantasy Setting Search, which began in 2002, and in 2005 the setting book won the Origins Award for Best Roleplaying Supplement of 2004. Eberron is a low-magic, high-tech fantasy setting in which the magic, while less spectacular than in other settings, is more thoroughly entwined with the daily life of the world’s inhabitants. Things like newspapers, identity papers, everburning lanterns, and the lightning rail connect this fantasy setting a little more with the real world than many others, and provides a perfect setting for morally grey noir style stories.

To be honest, I don’t know much more about the Eberron setting – It’s always been a fascination of mine but I’ve never really had the chance to partake in a campaign set in them, so this campaign is going to be a lot of fun for me. Hopefully, it will be for you as well.
