The Resident Evil 3 remake is quite the hit, shipping out over 2 million copies in just five days. Capcom announced on Monday that the HD reimagining of the 1999 classic Resident Evil: Nemesis shipped that many between PS4, Xbox One family and PC sales.

The game released on April 3rd and already has a nice jump on the original game, which sold a total of 3.5 million copies. The remake of Resident Evil 2, which released in January of 2019, has sold over 6.5 cumulative copies. 50% of RE3’s sales were digital.

The announcement notes of the latest game:

The new Resident Evil 3 is a reimagining of the 1999 release of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. The new game incorporates fresh ideas and utilizes the latest technology, leveraging Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine. In addition to putting a fresh twist on the original’s story and setting, the game boasts new play experiences even for fans who played the predecessor. Further, the title gives players the chance to enjoy both single player and multiplayer fun with the inclusion of Resident Evil Resistance, an asymmetrical online multiplayer title that was honored with an award in the Future Division of the Japan Game Awards: 2019.
