Shenmue I and II Set for Re-Release in 2018

SEGA Europe officially announced today that the pioneering epic games in the Shenmue saga, Shenmue I and II, will be re-released for the current generation of consoles. The game will receive physical and digital re-releases later this year on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well a Windows PC release on Steam. You can check out an announcement preview below.

Shenmue I and II re-releases will be true to the originals and include modernized features, such as fully scalable screen resolution, choice of modern or classic control schemes, PC graphics options, an updated user interface, and an option to play the game with the original Japanese or English voiceovers.

Shenmue I and II are groundbreaking games that take players on a thrilling voyage across amazing digital recreations of Japan and Hong Kong, China in a tale of revenge of mystery. The games feature real-time open worlds day-to-night cycles and dynamic weather changes, along with a population of civilians who follow their own schedules.

The physical and digital editions for the re-releases will be made available to pre-order from first party stores, Steam and US and EMEA retailers soon.

Meanwhile, the highly anticipated, long-awaited Shenmue III is still currently in the works for a Windows PC and PlayStation 4 release. The game does not yet have an official release date, but it’s expected to be released during the second half of 2018.
