Sony Reveals Playstation 5 During Live Event

Sony has unveiled the design of the PlayStation 5 during its big live event on Thursday. During its Future of Gaming live event, the company revealed the first official look at the console, which is set to launch this coming holiday season.

The console stands vertically but can be placed horizontally and features a white-and-black design which will match the new controller. It have two versions: one with with a 4K Blu-ray drive and a Digital Edition without an optical drive that is thinner than the Blu-Ray version.

Pricing has yet to be revealed for the console, which uses an eight-core AMD Zen 2 CPU and a custom AMD RDNA 2-based GPU, with an SSD drive containing 825 GB of storage. All games must be installed to the SSD to make use of the faster read speeds. It will support an “overwhelming majority” of the titles that exist on the PS4.
