The Starcraft II World Championship Series will jump into the Winter Round of 8 this weekend. Activision Blizzard has announced the schedule for this weekend’s WCS matches, which will run on Saturday and Sunday with the top eight from America and Europe doing battle for supremacy.

Starcraft noted in their announcement that based on player feedback, they’ve changed up the format for this top 8. Each player will play everyone in their region in a best-of-three round-robin style and when it’s over, the top six from each region will enter their region’s gauntlet playoff bracket, seeded based on their placement in the Round of 8. The playoffs will take place live on April 6th and 7th in Los Angeles at the Blizzard Arena, with broadcast times yet to come.
