Stephen Colbert is diving into some D&D for Red Nose Day, and fans can choose the scenario with their wallets. The popular D&D webseries Critical Role has announced that they have joined the 2019 Red Nose Day campaign and as a result, Matthew Mercer will be running a one-on-one mini-adventure with Colbert, with fans deciding the late night host’s class, weapon, legendary weapon quest and villain by donating to particular options.

Colbert has long been vocal about his love of Dungeons & Dragons, discussing it on several occasions with the likes of Joe Manganiello and Anderson Cooper. His pairing with Mercer and Critical Role, one of the most well-known D&D streams online, seems to be a natural fit. Critical Role’s involvement with several charities since the beginning of the show — notably 826 LA — Red Nose Day is a a good chance for Mercer to check Colbert off his bucket list of players and raise money for a good cause.

You can donate to the adventure options you want to see here. As of this writing, Colbert is set to play a Bard with his character’s mother as a companion, seeking a sentient Holy Sword that speaks like his hype man. His archnemesis for the episode (again, assuming it stays in the lead) will be a terrifying lich necromancer that is obsessed with inappropriate “bone” puns.

The polls stay open until Sunday, and Critical Role will continue to collect money for the cause up until Red Nose Day itself, which is May 23rd.

Red Nose Day is a campaign with the mission to end child poverty by funding programs that keep children safe, healthy, and educated. Since its debut in 2015, the yearly campaign has raised $150 million to help children around the world.
