The Last of Us Part II

After being taken off the release schedule, The Last Of Us II now has a new release date and it’s not so far away. PlayStation has announced that the highly-anticipated sequel will now release on June 19th.

The news comes after the game, originally scheduled for February, was first bumped until May 29th and then was delayed further without a new release date. PlayStation also noted that Ghost of Tsushima is set for release on July 17th.

PlayStation’s Hermen Hulst said in the announcement, “I want to personally congratulate and thank both the teams at Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions on their achievements, as we know it’s not an easy feat to reach the finish line under these circumstances. Both teams have worked hard to deliver world-class experiences, and we can’t wait to see what you think of them when they release in just a few short months. And finally, I want to thank the PlayStation Community for their continuous support and patience.”

The game’s story is described as follows:

Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors.

When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.
