The Witcher’s Geralt Set for Monster Hunter World DLC

Capcom officially announced today the Iceborne expansion for Monster Hunter World. Additionally, the publisher announced another collaboration for which is going to bring another popular professional monster hunter into the world of Monster Hunter in Geralt, based on CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. As part of a special collaboration with CD Projekt RED and Capcom, The Witcher 3’s Geralt of Rivia will be brought to the New World. There will be unique quests offering a new type of gameplay that blends the immersive RPG style of The Witcher 3 with Monster Hunter World. The voice actor for Geralt, Doug Cockle, has also record new dialogue for the expansion. The Witcher and in-game anniversary event for Monster Hunter World are due to arrive early next year (2019)

Also announced this week is Iceborne, a new massive expansion for Monster Hunter World that will be available for for fall 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox One X and Windows PC. The expansion will add new quest ranks, locales, monsters, moves and gear in addition to a full narrative experience that continues on from the ending of Monster Hunter: World.

Players will still need the base game to play the expansion. The base game version is currently available across consoles and PC. More information will be released on the Iceborne expansion next spring.

Additionally, Capcom confirmed a special event called the Kulve Taroth Siege. Up to 16 players in groups of four each can team up towards a common goal. This event will return on December 20 with a tougher Arch Tempered version of this monster that yields more powerful rewards.

Also, there will be The Appreciation Fest to mark the anniversary of the game’s release in January 2019. This will include a newly decorated Gathering Hub, special equipment that can be obtained in brand new quests and a slew of new anniversary quests for everyone.

Monster Hunter World is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
