Alex Caceres Was Impressed With His Short-Notice Performance at UFC 199

Speaking to reporters in a post-fight scrum after UFC 199 (via MMAjunkie), UFC featherweight fighter Alex Caceres discussed his win over Cole Miller. You can check out some highlights from the scrum below.

Caceres on winning the fight on short notice: “It impressed me. If I know that I can do this in one week, then you give me a whole camp, I’m going to be on fire. It’s definitely a good feeling. It’s definitely a great test, a good understanding for myself. Now I know where I stand. On one-week notice or six weeks’ notice, I’m going to be a hell of a fighter.”

Caceres on his evolution as a fighter: “I embraced the inner child in myself; instead of growing up, I grew back into who I was. I started to remember how I was when I was a child. And when you’re a child, we really don’t care what people think, we’re not afraid to be ourselves, and we’re not afraid to make friends and create these bonds. Reverting back to that mentality, I think that helped me a lot in growing as a person spiritually.”
