Anthony Johnson Planning For UFC Return

Anthony Johnson is looking to make his return to the UFC after two and a half years. ESPN reports that Johnson’s manager Ali Abdelaziz says Johnson is looking to return to competition as a heavyweight and plans to return to the Octagon in 2020.

Johnson last fought in April of 2017, losing to Daniel Cormier at UFC 210 in a big for the light heavyweight championship. Johnson declared his retirement after the fight and has yet to fight. He will have to re-enter USADA’s testing pool for six months and clear all drug screens, as is normal for any retired fighter making its return.
