April 24, 2019 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

The man that Conor McGregor faced in an exhibition boxing match last week says that McGregor gave him a cheap shot him at the opening of the match. Michael McGrane faced McGregor in the exhibition match in Ireland last Friday and told TMZ that McGregor opened the match with “the cheapest shot I ever caught in my life, man.”

You can see video below of the opening moments, with McGrane saying that he expected McGregor to touch gloves to start the fight. Instead, McGrane hit him with a left hook that caught him in the eye. McGrane said, “You’re meant to go back to your corner, but Conor never went back to his corner. Conor leaped at me with a left hook.”

He added, “The ref was on his side. There’s no way I would have won that fight unless I knocked him out.”

The fight ended in a draw. McGrane did note that he appreciated the chance to fight someone with McGregor’s name value, and hopes he can improve from the experience.
