Conor McGregor is in the clear over an altercation from March where he allegedly smashed a fan’s phone and walked off with it. The Miami Herald reports that prosecutors dropped charges of robbery by sudden snatching and criminal mischief after the victim stopped cooperating with investigators. Khalil Madani, the prosecutor, announced the move in court on Monday.

“The victim of the crime does not wish to return to the United States and prosecute this case,” Madani said.

Ahmed Abdirzak, who had his phone “punched” out of his hand by McGregor after taking a picture of the fighter, filed a civil lawsuit but has since settled it. Madani said that Abdirzak, who lives in England, recanted his story.

McGregor did not appear in court for for the hearing and his lawyer said, “I think this was the appropriate resolution of this case.”
