Conor McGregor was the target of an attempted water bottle attack during a Q&A in Moscow, Russia on Friday. ESPN reports that during the Q&A, which came after he announced that he would be returning to the UFC in January, saw a man who was angry at the fighter’s insults levied toward Dagestan, where Khabib Nurmagomedov is from, and its people.

McGregor said during the Thursday press conference that “I wouldn’t go to Dagestan to take a s**t, and that is the truth … It’s in the nature of the Dagestani man to run. Every great Russian knows this about the Dagestani men. Every Chechen knows this about the Dagestani men. They run, and they cower.”

During the Q&A, McGregor was questioned about his remarks about Dagestan, with the man saying, “Do you remember what you said about Dagestan people yesterday? If you hate Khabib and his team, why you say bad things about people?”

McGregor added, “I’ll tell you why. Because of disrespect the people showed me in the buildup to the fight. They sold items in the grocery with my face on it. They sold–” until he was cut of by the man who asked if McGregor thought his brother and father were corwards. When McGregor said yes, the man said, “Why cowards? My father? My brother? What (did they) do to you?” and tossed the bottle, which McGregor avoided.

The man was escorted out of the room at that point. You can see video below:
