– UFC President Dana White took part in a Reddit AMA session this week, where he answered a number of fan questions. During the AMA session, he expressed some doubt on a possible Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov title fight happening this year. The fight was previously scheduled to headline UFC 249 this month. However, the postponements and travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic put it off for the umpteenth time. Below are some highlights.

Dana White on his confidence of Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson happening in 2020: “I’m afraid of what will happen next if we try to make that happen again.”

White on if UFC has ever considered a premium subscription pass: “first of all, ESPN has the broadcast rights for another 6 years. UFC Fight Pass is f***ing awesome and only getting better. You should definitely check that out and a great place to go hang out and watch the fights is to go hang out in bars, we’re at bars all over the world. I have actually never gone to see a fight in a bar… I wanna go see a Conor McGregor level fight at a bar.”

On if Fight Island would become a regular thing after the pandemic: “It’s gonna be interesting how this thing plays out over the next year or so. which is exactly why the investment into fight island makes so much sense for me. who knows how sports will change after this pandemic… it’s gonna be an interesting year. Fight Island is going to be around for a while.”

White on taking “Face the Pain” off of UFC broadcasts: “It wasn’t axed from TV, we try to change things up. Sometimes we’ll put the show open that I post for you guys right before the co-main event… and sometimes it’s at the beginning of the show. We just fuck around sometimes to see what we like or it depends on my mood that day.”
