Dana White Says Jon Jones Won’t Face Discipline From UFC Over March Arrest

May 8, 2020 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Jon Jones faced some serious heat after his arrest in March, but he won’t be punished over the incident by the UFC. Jones was arrested in March on charges of DWI and negligent use of a firearm and when asked by Combate if he’s spoken with Jones since, Dana White said no.

“I have not,” White told the outlet (per MMAjunkie). “I have not talked to him, but we completely expect him to compete this year.”

Jones was arrested in Albuquerque on March 26th after police responded to reports of gunshots being fired. Jones was found inside his vehicle with the engine on, and claimed that he didn’t know anything about the gunshots. He failed a field sobriety test that he consented to and when police searched the car, they found a black handgun under the driver’s seat and a half-empty bottle of Recuerdo 750ml behind the passenger seat. Jones was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated (DWI), possession of an open container, driving with no proof of insurance, and negligent use of a firearm. He ultimately pleaded guilty to the DWI in a deal that saw him sentenced to community service.

When asked by Combate if Jones is likely to face disciplinary action for his latest legal situation, White responded, “Not from me.”
