Dana White Not Sure if Conor McGregor Will Fight For UFC in 2018

April 8, 2018 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Dana White doesn’t know what the UFC’s plans for dealing with Conor McGregor are, including whether he’ll fight for them this year. White spoke after UFC 223 about McGregor’s situation after the UFC fighter attacked a bus full of fighters on Thursday. The incident caused three fights to be cancelled from UFC 223: two due to injuries to Michael Chiesa and Rey Borg, and one because Artem Lobov was involved on McGregor’s side.

Highlights from the interview are below:

On how his conversation with McGregor on Friday went: “Yeah, it’s good. I think that there’s a mutual respect between us.”

On whether McGregor could still fight this year for the UFC: “I don’t know. You can’t ask me anything about Conor. I don’t know anything about Conor. I haven’t thought about it. There’s nothing to think about this week I think except for this event.”

On where they go from here: “I had so many things thrown at me this week. To focus on this show was insane. We’ll get back (to Las Vegas) and focus on Conor McGregor.”
