Dana White Says He Doesn’t Hate Mark Hunt, Is Trying to Protect Hunt From Himself

Dana White said that despite Mark Hunt slamming him on social media, he’s just trying to protect Hunt from himself. White spoke with TMZ and said that he had nothing against Hunt despite the fighter calling him a “bald-headed prick” over getting pulled from UFC Fight Night 121 over medical concerns.

“He made a statement that I’ve hated him forever,” White said. “I don’t hate Mark Hunt at all. I’ve never hated Mark Hunt. He knows that. I was actually really good to Mark Hunt.”

Hunt was pulled from the card after publishing an article titled “If I die fighting, that’s fine” in which he alluded to stuttering and slurring his words. The UFC then scratched Hunt from his fight with Marcin Tybura, who will now fight Fabricio Werdum.

“Sometimes, you’ve got to protect these guys from themselves, and that’s what we’re looking into right now,” White said. He added, “I don’t expect an apology at all.”
