Derrick Lewis Pulled From UFC 216 Due To Injury

October 7, 2017 | Posted by Joseph Lee

MMA Junkie reports that Derrick Lewis (18-5 MMA, 9-3 UFC) has been pulled from his UFC 216 fight with Fabricio Werdum (21-7-1 MMA, 9-4 UFC). It’s believed that Lewis’ injured back flared up this week. He made weight yesterday and had no issues but made the decision to back out today. Werdum will now fight Walt Harris (10-5 MMA, 3-4 UFC), who was set to fight Mark Godbeer (12-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC). Godbeer is off the show but will still get his show money. It airs on PPV tonight from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, after preliminary fights on FX and UFC Fight Pass.
