Dustin Poirier is raring to go for his light heavyweight title unification fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov, and is looking ahead to a September date. Poirier spoke with TMZ Sports about the fight; you can check out some highlights below.

On the fight possibly happening in September: “I think September is perfect for this fight. I believe that is when his suspension is over. That’ll give me plenty of time to decompress and then get right back into training camp. It’s perfect.”

On if he’s impressed by Nurmagomedov: “I mean, anybody who fights that many fights in the UFC and goes undefeated…mixed martian arts is a crazy, crazy thing to do. There are so many variables and lots of ways to lose. To go 25-0, that’s impressive. Of course I’m impressed by him.”

On his message for Nurmagomedov: “Let’s go! He knows what’s up, I know what’s up. Let’s f**king fight.”

On a possible rematch with Conor McGregor: “You know, I’m down to fight whoever. Whatever the UFC wants me to do. I don’t have any grudges, I’m not hanging onto anything I’m trying to get back from these guys. I just wanna be the champ. Whatever fight that gets me there, whatever fight that establishes my name at the top of the pack, that’s the fights I want.”
