Georges St-Pierre is not looking to get back into the Octagon anytime soon, saying that he’s done with compeititon. St-Pierre, who was cornering his teammate Nasrat Haqparast at UFC on ESPN 5, was asked by TSN about a possible return to the ring at some point and put a damper on any such speculation.

Asked whether a fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov was still on his mind, GSP said, “It was on my mind when I retired, I really wanted to do it. But now, I’m telling you the truth. The UFC were clear they had other plans for Khabib. So I turned a page and I cannot wait the fight [between Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier] to happen.”

He went on to say, “Being the best fighter in the world is not my #1 priority anymore. It used to be, now it’s not. I have a family, friends, I have a lot more important things to do. And I have other projects down the road.”
Pressed one more time on whether he would take the fight with Nurmagomedov if it was offered, St-Pierre said, “If and if and if! With if, you don’t go nowhere … I have other things in my life. Other big projects that I can’t talk about, but I’m working on. I’m always training, I’m always in good shape, I will always be. But competition, for me, it’s a chapter of my life that is over.”

St-Pierre’s final fight was a win over Michael Bisping at UFC 217, where he won the UFC Middleweight Title. He retired in February of this year.
