With Stipe out until 2020, odds are such a fight won’t happen until sometime between March and May. Publicly, the former champion appears past any desire to fight Jon Jones for a third time.

Comment: Volvo was on his way to a potential title fight last year but he ran into the grit and heart of Derrick Lewis (and his hands, can’t forget them). This past spring, he was scheduled to return to action but after he was pulled from a card, rumblings thrust the USADA spotlight on the Russian. Though there has never been any official confirmation that Volkov failed any drug test, that hasn’t stopped people from concluding he did. In any event, Volkov is scheduled to return next month in Russia against JDS.
