Jon Jones Says He Wanted A UFC Heavyweight Title Shot

– During the recent UFC 247 press conference, Jon Jones revealed he was angling for a UFC Heavyweight Title fight against Stipe Miocic, but UFC decided to go with Stipe vs. Daniel Cormier 3.

“I was trying to get the Stipe Miocic fight. I thought maybe it would happen. But instead, we have Stipe vs. DC 3. At the moment, I was ready to go to heavyweight.”

Jones will now defend his UFC Light Heavyweight Title against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 on February 8, 2020/
