Jon Jones Speaks Out About Failed Drug Test: “I Would Never Do Steroids”

Jon Jones has spoken out about his failed pre-UFC 214 drug test, denying that he did steroids and saying that he never would. Jones posted to Twitter on Thursday after his “B” sample from the test confirmed initial results and he was stripped of the UFC light heavyweight title.

In the post, Jones replies to a follower who implores him to “just tell the truth.” Jones’ response read:

The response provides support for the common belief that Jones will attempt to clear his name via arbitration with USADA. The fighter faces a suspension of up to four years due to it being his second failed drug test under the UFC’s partnership with USADA.

Jones’ win over Daniel Cormier was overturned to a no-contest by the California State Athletic Commission, which led the UFC to strip Jones of the title and reinstate Cormier as champion. MMAjunkie reports Jones has also been dropped from the UFC’s official rankings.
