Jon Jones vs. Anthony Smith Officially Booked For UFC 235

Jon Jones will defend the light heavyweight championship against Anthony Smith at UFC 235. MMAjunkie has confirmed the news after Dana White initially told TMZ that the fight was on.

There is a caveat here: Jones still needs to get past the NSAC. The light heavyweight champion has to appear before the NSAC to address his atypical drug test that caused UFC 232 to be moved from Nevada to California at the last minute. That test revealed trace elements of turinabol, which were ruled by USADA tro be residual from Jones’ previous positive test and thus not subject to an anti-doping violation. Jones withdrew his licenese application from Nevada at that time in order to get licensed in California to face Alexander Gustafsson.

UFC 235 takes place on March 2nd at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
