Jon Jones Wants UFC Heavyweight Title Next, Francis Ngannou Tells Jones ‘Wait Your Turn’

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was active on Twitter last night when his longtime rival, Daniel Cormier, was in action last night at UFC 252. In the main event, Cormier lost a five-round trilogy fight to UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. Jones appears to have UFC heavyweight gold on his mind, as noted on his Twitter account. However, top heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou might have something to say about that.
Jon Jones tweeted, “Heavyweight world championships I will be seeing you real soon. Victorious.” He added, “For some reason these heavyweights don’t seem so big to me tonight.”
Jones continued on Stipe Miocic’s skills, “Avoid Stipe’s right hand, I’m too fast, I’ll be too strong when the time is right and have way too much energy. Soon and very soon I’ll be considered the baddest man on this planet.”
Later on, Ngannou responded to Jones via Twitter. He wrote, “Come on Jonny, I’m still here #UFC252.” In response to Jones’ comments on Miocic, Ngannou went on, “Seat down and wait your turn, I got next.”
UFC 252 was held last night at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight card was available on ESPN+ via pay-per-view. Prelims were shown on ESPN and UFC Fight Pass.
