Joseph Duffy Is Surprised His Negotiations With the UFC Have Garnered Attention

Joseph Duffy spoke with MMAjunkie for a new interview ahead of his fight with Reza Madadi at UFC Fight Night 107. Some highlights are below:

On his negotiations with the company making headlines: “I am a little bit (surprised), to be honest. There’s a lot of guys who have tested out free agency…I’m not sure why it’s such a big deal.”

On what he plans to do: “I’m leaving all doors open, obviously. I think you’d be crazy to shut any of those doors after coming this far. I’ll fight the fight, see how the fight goes, and go from there. I love working with the UFC, I love all the staff, I love working with the USADA program. There are lots of pros and cons to it all, I suppose. So we’ll leave the door open and see how it pans out.”

On getting in Madadi face at the Fight Night 107 media day: “A staredown doesn’t mean anything. When it comes to the fight, it’s all about your own mind frame and your technique. I’m very strong mentally, and I’m never going to quit. But technically, I feel like I’m stronger, also.”
