Speaking to reporters in a post-fight media scrum after UFC on ESPN+ 4, former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos discussed his victory over Derrick Lewis in the headlining bout. Dos Santos knocked out Lewis in the second round of their main event fight. Below are some highlights from the scrum (via MMAjunkie).

When asked about a potential fight with fellow top-ranked heavyweight Francis Ngannou, Dos Santos said the match-up “would be great.” Also, Francis Ngannou posted an emoji tweet while watching the fight card, which you can see below. Ngannou himself is coming off of a first-round knockout win over Dos Santos’ former longtime rival Cain Velasquez, which happened last month.

Junior dos Santos on a fight with Francis Ngannou: “I think that would be great. It should’ve happened in the past, but because of something weird it didn’t happen. Maybe now it can happen.”

Junior dos Santos on wanting a break before his next fight: “Right now I need a break. I need to stay active that’s the most important thing right now. Before my career comes my family. My daughter is born in May. I need to get ready to receive her. … I’ll fight again maybe at the end of August.”

The fight card was held at the INTRUST Bank Arena and broadcast live on ESPN+ 4. This marked the UFC’s first event in the state of Kansas. You can check out 411’s live results and coverage from the event RIGHT HERE.
