Speaking to (via Bloody Elbow), the father of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, says he plans to punish his son after his actions after the UFC 229 main event.

In the main event for the fight card, Nurmagomedov submitted former champion Conor McGregor in the fourth round. Nurmagomedov then proceeded to jump outside the cage and attacked McGregor’s friend and training partner, Dillon Danis, who was yelling insults at Nurmagomedov during the fight. Also, it appeared some of Nurmagomedov’s teammates entered the cage and attacked McGregor.

Abdulmanap stated, “I will impose a punishment tougher than the UFC’s. I warned him. For me, discipline comes first. You do whatever you want in the Octagon, [but] outside — this is the border of civilians, where there are children, women, strangers.”

Nurmagomedov is currently facing sanctions from the Nevada State Athletic Commission and likely the UFC. The NSAC is also holding Nurmagomedov’s $2 million fight purse for the event, pending an investigation.

UFC 229 was held last Saturday (Oct. 6) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card was broadcast live on pay-per-view. Prelims were shown on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass. You can check 411’s live results and coverage from UFC 229 RIGHT HERE.
