Khabib Nurmagomedov Returns To Russia, UFC 249 Bout With Tony Ferguson Uncertain

– TASS reports that Khabib Nurmagomedov has returned home to Russia as travel restrictions continue to escalate.

Nurmagomedov is scheduled to face Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 on April 18. The bout was originally scheduled to take place in Brooklyn, NY, but the commission shut down the event in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

UFC president Dana White has been adamant that he won’t cancel the event. But a new venue has yet to be announced.

Nurmagomedov had been training at AKA in California, but the state recently going into a lockdown has caused Khabib to leave California to return to Russia.
