Nate Diaz Cleared To Fight at UFC 244

October 26, 2019 | Posted by Ashish

ESPN reports that Nate Diaz has been officially cleared to fight Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 on November 2nd. Dana White tweeted on Friday night that he knew Nate wasn’t taking anything to cheat.

The USADA has confirmed that Diaz hasn’t committed an anti-doping rules violation even though there was an atypical finding of Ligandrol, a banned selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM), in Diaz’s out-of-competition test in October. Ligandrol stimulates muscle growth but the USADA traced it to a legal multivitamin supplement that Diaz took.

“Mr. Diaz has not committed an anti-doping policy violation, has not been provisionally suspended and is not subject to any sanctions,” a UFC statement said. “Additionally, UFC has been informed by independent experts who have determined that there is unequivocally no appreciable performance enhancing or therapeutic benefit from the significantly limited amount of LGD-4033 that may be present in his system, which is roughly 10,000 times lower than one LGD-4033 therapeutic dose.”

Diaz announced on Thursday that he was off the UFC 244 card because of an elevated levels of a banned substance that was caused by a ‘contaminated supplement.’ On Friday, Diaz demanded that UFC and Dana White clear his name or he ‘ain’t doin s—‘ but later deleted that tweet.
