UFC 217 - Georges St-Pierre Michael Bisping

The UFC returns to Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday, November 4 for UFC 217. The UFC confirmed today that the highly anticipated return of former welterweight champion, Georges St-Pierre, will be featured in the main event. St-Pierre will face UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping in the headliner in November.

Also, the card will feature a total of three title fights, at least on paper. Cody Garbrandt will defend his UFC bantamweight title against TJ Dillashaw. Also in women’s strawweight, Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend her title against Rose Namajunas. Jedrzejczyk is looking to defend her title for the sixth time.

For Georges St-Pierre, this will be his first fight since a controversial decision win over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167 in November of 2013. This will marks his first fight inside the Octagon in four years, and he will also be debuting in a new weight class. Bisping last fought at UFC 204 in October of 2016, beating Dan Henderson by unanimous decision in his first UFC title defense.

Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw are continuing their rivalry from The Ultimate Fighter for their co-main event bout. The undefeated Garbrandt is set to defend his title for the first time against the former bantamweight champion, TJ Dillashaw.

If Jedrzejczyk defeats Namajunas, she will tie Ronda Rousey’s UFC record of six successful title defenses in the UFC women’s divisions. Her opponent, Rose Namajunas, is coming off an impressive submission win over Michelle Waterson at UFC on FOX 24.

Here’s the updated lineup for the card:

Michael Bisping vs. Georges St-Pierre – UFC Middleweight Title
Cody Garbrandt vs. TJ Dillashaw – UFC Bantamweight Title
Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Rose Namajunas – UFC Women’s Strawweight Title
Stephen Thompson vs. Jorge Masvidal
Corey Anderson vs. Patrick Cummins
Johny Hendricks vs. Paulo Borrachinha
