Stipe Miocic will likely defend the UFC heavyweight title against Francis Ngannou at UFC 220 in January. MMAjunkie reports that according to a person with knowledge of the situation, the fight is being looked at for the January 20th card. The UFC has yet to announce the fight.

Ngannou leapt into title shot talk with a win over Alistair Overeem at UFC 218, and Dana White had said he would get the next shot at Miocic. It would be Miocic’s third defense of the title after beating Overeem and Junior Dos Santos.
