Tito Ortiz Says He’s Not Retired Yet, Targeting October Return

April 7, 2019 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Tito Ortiz hasn’t seen his last fight in an MMA cage quite yet. The UFC alumnus told TMZ Sports that he has an opponent lined up for a fight in October. Ortiz last fought in November in his third fight against Chuck Liddell.

“I’ll probably be fighting in October,” Ortiz said, admitting that he didn’t expect to come back. “After I fought Chuck last year, I thought it was gonna be my last one. But my body’s intact, everything’s fast, everything’s great. Sparring’s been good. Training’s been great. So let’s do one more for fun. Let’s do one for fun.”

Ortiz had retired after a four-fight run in Bellator where he went 3-1, but came out of retirement to complete a trilogy with Liddell for Golden Boy Promotions. Ortiz won the fight by first-round knockout.

“I have an opponent, so it’s gonna be fun when we announce it,” he added (per MMA Weekly). “Can’t tell you who it is yet.”
