Tony Ferguson Says Conor McGregor Avoided Eye Contact at May-Mac Press Conference

Tony Ferguson spoke with MMAjunkie following the Mayweather vs. McGregor press conference in Los Angeles earlier on Wednesday. Highlights are below:

On staring down McGregor: “He looks at me for a split-second, and I can tell that (expletive) saw the real ghost. He looked away so fast.”

On showing up to support McGregor’s opponent: “I’m a Mayweather fan, personally. Hit and not get hit.”

On McGregor avoiding the staredown: “I love that, because he knows I’m there. I could be a much worse heel if I really wanted to, but it’s not my style. I’m going to be me; I’m not going to be Conor.”

On wanting McGregor to vacate his title: “You’re putting the lightweight division on stall. Conor’s not defending the belt. He wants to go on to other ventures. That’s fine. Defend or vacate.”

On wanting a fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov for the interim title: “The draw of the Khabib fight would be huge. This would be awesome. I think fans have deserved this fight…UFC 209 was kind of a flop because Khabib didn’t show up. Khabib should be ashamed of himself, and he needs to make that up to all the fans, especially in Russia.”
