Dana White is full steam ahead with his plans to get the UFC back up and running, revealing that UFC 249 will be the first of three shows in eight days. White told ESPN that UFC 249 will take place on May 9th and will be followed by shows on May 13th and May 16th.

“They want to fight. People are hitting us up and want to fight,” White said. “We’re putting together three cards in a week. People who want to fight are going to get fights.”

White noted that the shows will take place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida without a live audience. UFC 249 will air its PPV main card on ESPN+, with the preliminary bouts airing on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+. White has since added that a fourth show will take place on May 23rd, but has not revealed the location for that show.

ESPN said in a statement, “Sports play an important role in people’s lives and can bring moments of escape in challenging times. We look forward to bringing UFC to fans again.”

The announcement makes official White’s busy month of trying to get UFC 249 to take place. The show was set for April 18th but was canceled due to the pandemic after a long fight to keep it going. White then said last week that he was targeting May 9th with a massive card.

The card is as follows:

Jeremy Stephens vs. Calvin Kattar

Aleksei Oleinik vs. Fabricio Werdum
Carla Esparza vs. Michelle Waterson
Uriah Hall vs. Ronaldo Souza
