UFC 249 Reportedly Set to Take Place On Tribal Land In California

April 8, 2020 | Posted by Ashish

The New York Times reports that the UFC is set to hold UFC 249 on tribal land at the Tachi Palace Casino Resort near Lemoore, CA as a way to get around state and federal guidelines against holding large gatherings because of the ongoing pandemic. The show is set to take place on April 18th.

The casino itself closed on March 20th due to the pandemic but is on tribal land and thus exempt from federal and state regulations as well as California State Athletic Commission sanctioning.

White said earlier this week that UFC will hold fight cards from this location every week for the next two months.

The Association of Ringside Physicians released a statement urging all combat sport events to be postponed, even if there is no crowd.

Here is the full fight card for UFC 249.
