MMA Fighting reports that UFC has officially announced a UFC Fight Night event for Moscow on September 15. It will be the promotion’s first event in Russia, after looking to hold one there since January. The event happens at the Olimpiyskiy Arena with tickets going on sale on June 1.

David Shaw, Senior Vice President, UFC International and Content, said: “Russia is a key part of UFC’s international expansion strategy. The demand from our fans to bring a live event to Russia has been overwhelming, and with the vast potential this market holds for us, we knew this was the perfect time to bring UFC Fight Night to Moscow.”

The UFC also announced the promotion of Andre Gromkovski as Vice President for UFC Russia. He will helpd the UFC move into the market.
