UFC Looking to Book Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson In April

The UFC is aiming to hold the long-awaited Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson matchup in spring of next year. Dana White told ESPN that the company is targeting their April 18th PPV for the fight, which would serve as the main event.
Ali Abdelaziz, Nurmagomedov’s manager, said that he has signed his bout agreement. While Ferguson has not signed, the outlet reprots that he’s interested in making the fight happen then pending further negotiations.
This would be the fifth attempt to book a fight between the two fighters. Each fighter has pulled out twice from previous bouts due to injury or weight issues; Nurmagomedov in 2015 and 2017, Ferguson in 2016 and 2018. Abdelaziz said, “Fifth time is the charm. Tony has been asking for this ass-whipping for a long time, and he deserves it. He’s earned it. Khabib wanted this fight, Tony wanted it, the UFC wanted it and the fans wanted it. This fight is for the fans.”
