Vitor Belfort recently spoke with AG Fight, noting that he plans to retire after his next fight. Belfort wants to fight at 205 pounds, and even has an opponent in mind…

“I’m going to talk to them (UFC), but I want this fight at 205 pounds. I would love to do this fight in this category. It would have to be an interesting fighter, but not a top fighter”, Belfort said. “I’ve been fighting good guys before: Dan Henderson, [Chris] Weidman, Dan Henderson, ‘Jacaré’ [Souza], [Gegard] Mousasi and now Kelvin [Gastelum]. These are all hard fights, so if you can book a smoother fight… What’s the name of that guy from WWE? CM Punk would be a good fight. CM Punk, let’s get it on. That would be a really good fight.”

Punk has repeatedly said that he wants a second MMA fight, but the UFC hasn’t been very receptive to the idea following Punk’s one-sided loss to Mickey Gall at UFC 203. The other issue is that Punk was fighting at 170, and would likely be very under-sized moving to 205. And then there’s the fact that Belfort has been fighting since 1996, has 39 fights under his belt and an athletic commission may be unlikely to make the bout.
