Yoel Romero Reportedly Pitches For Title Fight For UFC Card in Miami

Yoel Romero is reportedly pushing for a title fight with Robert Whittaker at a card in Miami later this year. MMA Fighting reports that Romero’s management has pitched the idea of the fight and card to the UFC. There is said to be interest on the UFC’s part, but nothing has been finalized at this point.

Romero is said to be next in line for a title shot. The UFC has only ever had one show in Miami, which was UFC 42 back in 2003. That card was headlined by a welterweight title fight between Matt Hughes and Sean Sherk, and drew only 6,700 fans.
