Prime Video Renews The Boys For Season Four

The Boys will be back, as Prime Video has renewed the series for a fourth season just a week after season three bowed. Deadline reports that Prime Video has renewed the series for a fourth run.

While details have yet to be revealed on the viewership numbers, Deadline reports that the show is up 17% from season two and 23% from season one of the first three days since it premiered its third season.

“From our first conversation with Eric Kripke and the creative team about Season Three of The Boys, we knew the show was continuing to get even bolder—an impressive feat considering the wild success of the Emmy-nominated second season,” said Vernon Sanders, who is the head of global television at Amazon Studios. “This stylized world of the series has incredible global reach and the viewership for opening weekend is proof of that.”

The show is adapted from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic and has become a highly-buzzed series for its high critical buzz and its over-the-top violence and sex. The show also has two spinoffs, with The Boys: Diabolical which launched earlier this year and a superhero college-set spinoff that is in production.
