AMC Renews Better Call Saul For Sixth, Final Season
Jimmy McGill has one last run, as Better Call Saul has been renewed for a sixth and last season. AMC announced at the TCA winter press tour on Friday (per THR) that the Breaking Bad spinoff, a critical and commercial hit in its own right, will film its sixth season this year and release early next year.
The season will serve as a last hurrah for Bob Odenkirk in the role that has earned him numerous award nominations and a Critics’ Choice Television Award win for Best Actor in a Drama. Peter Gould said of the renewal, “From Day one of Better Call Saul, my dream was to tell the complete story of our complicated and compromised hero, Jimmy McGill – now AMC and Sony are making that dream come true. We couldn’t be more grateful to the fans and critics who are making this journey possible. Next month we start work on the sixth and final season — we’re going to do our damnedest to stick the landing.”
The fifth season premieres in February 23rd and will run 10 episodes.
