The Russos Reveal Potential Future for Specific Character in Avengers: Infinity War

Author’s Note: There are spoilers here for Avengers: Infinity War on the return of a specific MCU character.

During a fan Q&A session on the official Twitter account for The Avengers movie series, Joe and Anthony Russo shared a very revealing answer regarding a certain character who appeared in Avengers: Infinity War. This involved the appearance of the Red Skull in the film.

Ross Marquand made an appearance as the Red Skull in the movie. He was on the planet Vormir watching over the Soul Stone before Thanos and Gamora arrived there in Infinity War. However, since the Soul Stone is no longer there, a fan asked if Red Skull is now free to leave the planet.

The Russos wrote in response, “Red Skull is free to leave Vormir, and he is also free to pursue his desire for an Infinity Stone.”

Whether Ross Marquand will appear again in the MCU as the Red Skull or not remains to be seen. Avengers: Infinity War is set to hit Blu-ray and DVD on August 14. The still untitled fourth Avengers movie is due out in theaters later next year.
