Batista Says He’d Play Bane in A Batman Film

There’s a new Batman film on the way, and if they need a Bane than Batista is up for a go. A fan on Twitter noted that he would like to see the wrestler-turned-actor play the man who broke the Bat, which drew out an affirmative response from the star.

To be clear, there’s no indication that this will happen or that Bane is even in the next Bat-film. That film is The Batman, which is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson as a younger Bruce Wayne in a “point of view-driven, noir” story.

Bane’s appearance on the big screen has had mixed results at best. He was reduced to a mindless henchmen of Poison Ivy in the much-hated Batman & Robin, while Tom Hardy’s take in Dark Knight Rises has more of a split opinion (but many jokes about Hardy’s voice as Bane).

The Batman is set to open on July 17th, 2020.
